Why do monk bars suck so much after four years?
Discuss.
Anyone? I can't believe the bars I'm seeing are SO FREAKING BAD.
edit:
Whoever invented Healer's Boon, GoLE, Heal Party combo should be dragged out into the streets and shot in the face.

You must be a bad player. Monks are awesome now. You got RoJ, WoH, Prot, and much more.
Don't feel bad if you're terrible monking. Look at the other noobs in Guild Wars.

If your talking about other player bars, then that's just because its other players and being a GOOD monk (not HB monk) is hard. If your talking about meta builds, they dont really suck.
I still use mainly Prophecies skills on mine lol.

You would think that after four years (are pvx bars that bad?) we would have stopped seeing so much shitty red-bar up. Hell, why do people still regularly bring orison and healing breeze? I thought we demonstrated that it sucks? What the hell?

Hmm, there used to be a sticky in the Campfire detailing how to do it. Inde had to disable the bbCode (which allowed us to post skills/builds) in order to fix an issue. She must have unstickied the guide while bbCode isn't available (don't know when she'll be able to get it back up).

Healer's boon may not be the best heal elite...but it's damn good. Only other two decent heal elites are WoH and Unyielding, although not healing, is good support.

The reason people bring Orison is because it is a good filler heal while all your other heals are recharging.
That said, patient healing + word of healing are a better combo IMO
And Healer's Boon is good because you can arcane mimicry an Unyielding Aura monk and heal over two times as much with your heals.
If you follow such a strategy, Orison of Healing is actually pretty darn good since it is a quick recharging heal.
As for healing breeze, people take it for those special occasions once would be suffering heavy degen or damage every once in awhile with no source of regen. Such as in a Voltaic Spear Farm, you must cast it on the permasin right away to mitigate all the tramples he has had.
That said, it's not good for general pve due to its expensive cost and effect.
Anyways, do you play a monk? You're saying monks are bad, but now monks are better than ever.

Wow what a sweeping statement care to tell us more about why monking bars suck?
Maybe you are a player that prefers dealing damage than healing. If thats the case you can always play another character first. Play the monk again when you found renewed love for this awesome profession.

Well to be fair....not everyone has been a monk for 4 years, or spends excess time staying on top of meta builds. Not to mention there is still that group of the playerbase that will always be considered "noobs", but who are we to judge??
That being said, I think it's better for monks especially to run what they are comfortable running as long as it's not hindering the group.

i agree that HB+GoLE+healparty combo is REALLY annoying to see on a monk.
i disagree that monk bars have gotten worse over the years - i think you are just having bad luck with monk recruitment.
WoH, ZB, UA, PnH, Divert Hexes, RoJ are all good.
even Empathic Removal on heroes with monk secondary is decent.

Some of you have severe reading comprehension issues. It's abundantly clear that the OP is wondering (rhetorically, I imagine) why monk players are still bringing terrible skills. It's particularly egregious considering that the principles - and many of the skills - behind monk bars have not changed significantly since the game's release.
Skills like Orison and Healing Breeze have never been good, and have never seen serious play - not in boonprot, not in blight, not in ZB, not in LoD, not ever. The fact that large numbers of people still bring them is solid evidence that players (or monk players, at least) have learned pretty much nothing in the past four years, and are just as lethally stupid now as they were then.

uhh HB is pretty good, i prefer UA over it though (insta-res for when i get lazy ftw)
Patient Spirit, Orison of Healing, Heal Other, (Optional), Ether Signet (iirc) Auspicious Incant, Heal Party, UA.
yes it looks noobish, but run it with a prot and nothing dies, you have an infuse like heal from Heal Other, great energy management with Ether Sig and Auspicious->HP
